Désirée Jiménez

Originally from the Canary Islands, Désirée Jiménez moved to Nottingham, England, several years ago. She currently works in the video game industry and has spent years as an author and creator. She has published in seven countries and has won several awards for her writing. She has released a poetry book, a collection of short horror stories, and a flash-fiction book and has also collaborated with fellow authors on several anthologies. In her debut YA novel, Désirée strives to give her readers a fantastical place to escape when the days are tough.

Désirée finds inspiration in nature, travelling, and listening to people talk, which isn’t as creepy as it sounds. She is a shower songstress who enjoys long walks on the beach, loves seafood paella and chocolate. She is fond of role-playing games, films, and tends to buy too many books that she doesn’t have the time to read. If she could only own one book, it would be Forgotten King Gudú, by Ana María Matute.
