Faith that flourishes, even if

Do you read fiction for escape?I’ve been doing that more and more. But to stand out as one of my favorites, a novel usually has to go deeper than entertainment. The stories that remind me of truth in an area where I’m struggling bolster my faith and prepare me to reenter the real world. It’s these books that I push on my friends and recommend far and wide, often for years after I’ve read the story. So, it’s my prayer that my own work would strike that balance between restful escape and life-giving truth. It’s my prayer that together, we could all foster faith that flourishes even if and no matter what.If you’ve read a few of my stories, you may have noticed I usually set my stories in some fictionalized area of Wisconsin, where I live with my husband.Though I like to think some of my characters are pretty great, the ultimate hero of my stories (including the one I’m living) is Jesus. I enjoy gardening, road trips to the mountains, and walks with my energetic coonhound rescue. My debut novel, Justice, released from Pelican Book Group in 2018. I’m a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, and I’m honored to have won their First Impressions contest in 2015. I’m also a hope*writer, and I serve as their WebChat Coordinator. My non-fiction has appeared on GraceTable.org, in Southern Writer’s Magazine, and Seriously Write.
