I’m a British horror fiction writer who’s not afraid to send visceral shivers through the spines of my readers. Expect bucketfuls of blood, gore and guts in my novels. That doesn’t mean I neglect what lies encased inside the skull either. There’s nothing I love more than zapping readers on a psychological level too! Ratstrike – the first in a rat trilogy – is my homage to British horror fiction author, James Herbert, whose classic horror novel, The Rats, inspired me to write my own rat horror novel. How the world looks decades from now fascinates me. Are we facing a bleak dystopian future? There are enough problems to contend with, from global warming to new emerging pandemics. Hey, even the threat of nuclear annihilation hasn’t gone away. Much of my horror fiction channels a post-apocalyptic theme. There’s nothing scarier than staring through the prism of a dystopian future. You never know what’s gonna slap you in the chops. Courage is required to look the future square in the eye. I believe a guerilla attitude to horror writing is more important than ever in the 21st century.
